1. I'm pretty firmly in the camp that we should never freeze the minor league rosters. So no, they wouldn't be locked before or during the draft. This would allow a team to immediately replace a player that is drafted, and maybe we work it out so that the player you select to replace the drafted player is automatically protected.
2. My proposal would be to freeze the Yahoo roster, so if you have a minor leaguer on your Yahoo roster, they're eligible to be drafted from there.
3. Everyone would lose two guys from their MiLB roster. If you only have 11, then you lose 2. There's no reason to only have 11 guys on your MiLB roster at this point.
4. That's a good point that we could discuss.
5-10. We'd need to work through some of these details once we decide if and when we want to do this.
Assuming we don't go with forgoing a minors draft, I think leaving rosters open creates chaos for all involved trying to make it work, and puts especially big strain on newbies trying to come in and keep everything on people's rosters straight. It also gives those who get players chosen early an unfair advantage on picking up guys as they have a spot open that others do not. My suggestion or vote if we go with a vote, would be if we have a minors draft, we freeze the rosters for the length of the minors draft and then reopen them right after. Also gives Clint a chance to make all the changes necessary and make sure things are right before we put it in complete turmoil.

1st, if anything… this all caused the most posts in shortest period of time in the leagues history….
Next…
Teams voting yes so far: 1, 3, 4, 6, 10, 11, 12….
That’s a mix of most of the top tier 2025 teams and most of the bottom tier rebuilders, with just one middle team.
The “no” votes are almost entirely the middle of the pack clubs, minus Preseason (who finished 2nd).
Kind of shows how expansion appeals most to the extremes… the top teams wanting the added challenge, and the bottom teams wanting more opportunity to climb, and the middle wanting things to stay steady.
Interesting how that lines up with where each team appears to be in their fantasy life cycle
For what it's worth, I'm mostly a no because I think there are rules and procedures that we need to hammer out before expanding.
If this whole vote is only on the concept of expanding not trying to ram in an expansion as quick as we can, then I might change my vote or at least abstain out of apathy.

Bruh, even though you don’t like it, the majority voted for expansion under the parameters laid out by Bird. Your voice was heard, you voted, your opinion was in the minority. It’s not the end of the world, and I’m positive over the next couple of months you will litigate this thing to death to add to a solid plan.
I’m welcoming the two new GM, sons of two members with impeccable reputations, to the fold.

Weren't you the one bitching that the forum wasn't lively enough for you? Now that you got what you want you start bitching again, I'm starting to think this is just your default setting.
I was asked my opinion, I gave it. I'll do this however Bird wants and don't worry you'll get your chance to dump the guys you are desperate to dump on other people.

I added this on another thread but for the sake of ease I wanted to say it here as well, while I'm still in favor of the concept of expansion, I don't see a reasonable way to do it for the 2026 season and be fair to our current GMs. There are guys who made adds, drops and trades in the last 30-90 days with the expectation that major changes weren't happening and to do so now seems like pulling the rug out from under them. One thing that we have tried to do in the 15 years (or so) that this league has been a dynasty league is be fair to each other. Making immediate, drastic changes to the league "overnight" seems like a clear deviation from all of the history that we've built as a league.
We could discuss other rule changes for 2026 that wouldn't be as impactful as expansion but we have to table this one for a year if we want to do it right. And I hope you guys all would agree that my only goal with this league is to get it right.

I like your idea of letting them assemble their minors roster first. Brilliant idea!
