First we voted for expansion.

Now we can act like Democrats & Republicans and go to war, b*tching, drawing lines in the sand, and trying to circumvent what's been voted on. Or we can be progressives and finally come up with innovative solutions. If the majority didn't vote for expansion everything would have been status quo for seasons. I say we use this new found energy to push ideas forward.

My internal solution for closers is while not punting saves, I'm not going to sacrifice my ratios anymore for them. I'll just continue to accumulate offensive weapons in the meantime. If we add a combined Saves/Holds cat, I'll adjust. QS, I'll adjust. Change & roster turnover are a part of pro life.   

Now the minority can dissect and quibble over everything I said, which isn't going to change to vote. Or we can grab a few zoom/team calls and collaborate. I bet we can come up with unique and awesome ideas, and maybe even some solutions.

I've thrown a lot of cents out on changes so I'll drop some more change in the cup.

On league changes overall, I think we keep saying we will figure it out, but we don't. Some of these issues have been brought up ad nauseum, but since I've joined the league the only vote I've really seen has been on expansion which had the least amount of discussion of any of the items. I'm not arguing against expansion but let's just say I'm not filled with faith that we will make any additional changes.

As to the closer issue. I'm for doing something about it. I like adding holds to saves because I think it takes down closer hoarding, which is a legit strategy at this point and actually makes other relievers valuable other than holding them hoping they become a closer. I'm also for either in tandem or instead of adding 2 SP slots, which I think reduces closer hoarding as well.

I don't get the suggestion of lowering the IP limit. If most of the league was hitting the limit in early September, there'd be an argument for increasing it. But the fact that no one reaches it (hooli was the closest), to me, means it's a solid limit.

So with the high IP limit, you can certainly choose to stream to try and get close to that limit. It would help your K and potentially your W totals. But could also hurt your ratios based on the quality of SP you stream. So it’s risk/reward that you need to decide. Could work for you or not. Or you could choose to have a set group of SP that offer good ratios and give up on the extra K & W potential.

So I’m not sure it matters. If it can be exploited this league will find ways to do it.

All that said, this one isn’t a hill I would die on either way personally
