Rule Modification for 2020
With the ongoing craziness of COVID-19, we're going to suspend the locking of minor league rosters for the 2020 season. Since there are no minor leagues and nothing but taxi squads to work with, I think the prudent thing to do is suspend this rule for the season. If you have players on a major league roster on your minor league roster, you will be able to continue making MiL adds and drops.

Hey Bird, I am sorry I don't quite understand this post. Are you saying minor league rosters are locked for the season? Then you say you can add/drop if you want to move players up to the MLB roster? Not trying to be an ass but that doesn't seem to work. Also MiLB players are typically essential to trades. So we cant include them? What about the Amateur draft? I don't see how this is going to work.

It just means we are free to make adds/drops/etc even if we have a player on our minors that’s currently in the majors. Since they have the taxi squad, that would essentially lock minors rosters for a lot of us under the normal rule. But this year there is no lock to a teams minors if they have someone on it in the MLB. Hopefully that clears it up.

We need to start that puppy up! I wanted to start it tomorrow or Saturday to start with the regular season but I think we need to push it out a week. Why don't we start it at 9A on 8/1? We'll get a thread created.
And while Clint already hit on it, to answer Hooli's question, minor league rosters are open. We're just not going to enforce who's on them. I also don't have a problem with anyone stashing a player who opted-out (like David Price) on a minor league roster for this year. We'll go back to the normal rules when we have a normal season in 2021 (I hope!).
