Spanky, no you don't need to bring up Bubba Thompson.  My post in the draft thread even calls that out. That I will not be checking roster locks for minor league players.  Too many of them are brought up this time of year for 2 games while they fill a spot as traded MLB players travel to their new teams, etc. So no, you do not need to bring up Bubba Thompson.  That is called out in the draft thread, and has been how we have operated for years.

CJ, again, you're not reading what I'm saying at all. I don't care one bit about Garrett Cooper. I'm using this situation as an example of a loophole that needs to be closed.  I called it out when you sent him down. His status in Yahoo never switched to N/A which is what it lists minors players as. When I look at the Marlins active roster on MLB (which is how I check who's minors rosters are locked) he still was listed.  So had I followed my normal code that determines who's minors rosters are locked on that 1 day he was on minor rehab, it would have still come up showing him as an MLB player.  Yahoo never treated him as a minors player. The MLB official rosters never treated him as a minors player either.  When I brought up to Bird and Duchess, they agreed, but said the wording of the current rule would allow him to be sent down.

At that time I understood that they also agreed that he should lock your roster once activated as a solution to temporarily close the loophole until a permanent solution could be found. I have followed up with them now, and that was a misunderstanding.  If we are not checking all minors players every hour as the draft progresses, then we should not be locking your roster. So he will not officially lock your roster until the next time I run my roster check process.
