Ok, hate to be that guy, but is this allowed? Where will Callups keep a player in the majors? Didn’t think the 2 expansion guys could trade for guys in the majors

My recommendation, they can carry an mlb player on their minors roster, but they have to drop a minors player to do so. Its possible they forgo a pre-season pick to do so.
Also would like to see Call-Ups confirm the trade.

I think the problem is, we already said that the expansion teams can't call people up to the majors, and then take another minor league player. We've essentially said they get 20 roster spots, no more, until the MLB draft. I think this is fine, as long as Will Smith then counts against Call Up's 20 roster spots and he drops a minor league player.
But if we open the door to him keeping him on the MLB roster that they don't have, then I don't know how we can still say they can't call people up to the majors and replace them on their minors roster. Not that they would go to this extreme, but we would open the door for them to actually have 50 minor leaguers, because they could just "call up" 30 of them to the majors roster for now.
I don't have any problem with the trade. Just need to make sure we are consistent with the rosters, which would mean based on previous rulings, the Will Smith needs to take up one of Call Ups 20 minor league spots.

Hey guys, we're going to have to void this trade. Earlier this season, Jdubb had a similar issue where he had a minor league player get called up but we required that the player remain on his minor league roster because we had no mechanism for rostering a major league players on the expansion teams this year. This situation, like Razor and Preseason Champs point out, brings up a host of other questions of where to put this player now, how to count him in the major league roster drafting, etc. For this reason, I have to void this trade and hold to the precedent that the expansion teams can only draft/add/trade minor leaguers until they are able to establish a major league roster this offseason.
To the Call Ups (and to a lesser extent Mookie), sorry dude, I know that this sucks but establishing more rules to try to make this work for you just doesn't work.
Now, Hooli added Will Smith as a waiver pickup this morning. I'm going to back out the move in Yahoo but does anyone know what his waiver priority was yesterday? I'd like to restore that as well but that information isn't available in Yahoo's system.
